Have you heard of the name Peter Burns? If you are familiar with the name, then you probably already know that he is one great entrepreneur! Peter Burns is an acclaimed millionaire and entrepreneur who has been teaching the subject of Entrepreneurship 101 at ASU’s Barret Honors College for over a year.

There are also news circulating that he may team up with the Grand Canyon University this coming May for its launching of the College of Entrepreneurship. Asked why he preferred to team up with another school instead of ASU, Peter Burns responded that he first suggested the idea to the ASU but the school seemed uninterested. It was Grand Canyon University who took interest to launch the said proposed degree program.

It appears that Peter Burns is not at all disappointed with ASU’s decision but who knows what really plays on his own mind? He further stressed out that ASU’s decision is right. After all, he knows for a fact that it is not the sole endeavor of a business school.

Out of the reputation harnessed by Peter Burns, several other endeavors have begun to sprout from other colleges aimed at enhancing a students’ capacity to do business as an entrepreneur. More and more trainings and seminars on entrepreneurial management are beginning to appear throughout America. This shows that Americans have finally realized the value of molding a potential entrepreneur. And many indicate that there is no reason why the process of entrepreneurship cannot be started while people are still young and attending school.

Imagine yourself being the boss. You control the business. Moreover, you own the business! In fact it is everybody’s dream—to be the owner of the business and to be your own boss! A lot of American people do not want to be lorded over by somebody else. And throughout the crowd of many college students nowadays, the idea of becoming a great and widely recognized and respected entrepreneur is one of their wildest dreams ever.

Becoming an entrepreneur gives you the possibility of generating a handsome income. More than ever, new college students are seeing themselves as potential successful future entrepreneurs and taking up business-related courses when they step through the doors of their colleges and universities.

It is without a doubt that Peter Burns’s entrepreneurial ideas are influencing the minds of new generations of college students. More importantly, schools administrators have already awakened to this kind of scenario and the benefits it could bring to their students.

So why are students more inclined to become successful entrepreneurs in the near future? Among the reasons put forth by education researchers and business analysts are the following:

There are several colleges that now offer programs related to entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial skills. Their goal is to prepare their students for fulfilling their dreams and ambitions of starting their own companies in the future.

More and more students are taking the subject of entrepreneurship seriously, having been inspired by people like Bill Gates, Walt Disney, and Michael Dell, all of whom started young and became successful businessmen in their own rights.

There are a lot of people who are surrounded by family members who are business owners themselves. This is a positive point of reference and often provides the motivation in young people to become business owners themselves.

The students of today’s generation are more conscious that wealth can only be gained if you have the knowledge and skills of working with money, and investing for profits. Many people have also seen their parents work hard all their lives in jobs that did not make them wealthy, or even financially secure.

They are likewise very much aware that with only a little capital, they can start a business that can be built and expanded slowly and with minimum risk.

To date, the number of enrollees in entrepreneurial degrees is increasing and the trend is predicted to grow even further in the coming years. When asked about the factors that are influencing them to become entrepreneurs, most students mention their parents, relatives, idols, and mentors. Today, it is no longer shocking news to see students and young people building their own companies immediately after graduating from school. Many of them team up with their pals and former classmates and start getting on with the business of growing their enterprises.

Educating young people about entrepreneurship has a positive and motivating influence in the mind. It encourages students to always strive for the best and to remain open to new opportunities, angles and possibilities for taking business and commerce to new levels of success.
